WHOLESOME MEALS. MADE IN DC.

Due to the devastating impact of COVID-19, we have partnered with DC Greens to provide meals to DC residents who currently have limited access to meals. During this time, we have shifted our focus from special event catering to individual home meal delivery, meal delivery to nursing facilities, and meal access for the homeless. We are proud to launch Giving Kitchen – a program where wholesome meals are prepared and delivered to the region’s most vulnerable communities.

The program supports the following local communities:

  • Home-bound Seniors in various communities in Wards 7 and 8
  • At-risk quarantined individuals who are unable to seek food during home shelter
  • Health-compromised individuals who have lost food services due to the crisis
  • Front-line workers who need meals prepared and delivered to them on the job

Occasions will support the following organizations with prepared meals: East River Family Strengthening Collaborative, N Street Village, and Medstar Health. We are also pleased to support Food & Friends by providing food donations and in-kind services.

We are collaborating with DC Greens, a leading food justice and health equity organization. Funds donated on this page will be allocated to our partner organizations and will go immediately to feed those most at risk of hunger in our community.

Please consider a generous donation to the Occasions Giving Kitchen fund so, together, we can support our entire community. A portion of your donation will be tax exempt.

SAFETY

Safety is our top priority for both clients and team members. We continue to maintain the highest sanitation standards as recommended by the FDA, DC Health Department and CDC guidelines. Our staff has stringent hygiene practices, wears gloves and masks, and wipes down hard surfaces every half hour or more.

ABOUT DC GREENS

Founded in 2009, DC Greens works to advance food justice and health equity in the nation’s capital. Recognizing that disparities in food access and health outcomes fall along racial and socioeconomic lines, the organization aims to shift systems in the long-term through food access, food education, and food policy. DC Greens is collaborating with community members, nonprofits, businesses, and governmental agencies during COVID-19 to provide emergency food relief across the city.
